Emily is 7!

Early Friday morning, I woke up Emily with breakfast in bed (per her request). She really enjoys the thought of room service and always asks for it when we stay in hotels. I don't mind fulfilling this wish on her birthday. It was very cute. Christian sang Happy Birthday to her and has continued to do so over the past two days.

We had a family celebration yesterday opening presents and cards from mom and dad, grandparents, great aunts and uncles, aunts and uncles... she feels very loved. Christian really enjoyed helping her open presents. The blanket in the picture is one that Memo lovingly made for her. I was worried she might not understand the work that went into it, but she really appreciated it as you can see. The quilt is on her bed, along with curtains hanging in her room as well. The rest of the evening she played with her new Barbies, video games and such.
We ended the celebration today with a pool party for her and friends. I have to say this was the most stress-free party I have every planned. Pizza, a pool and a Wal-mart cake. The kids all had a blast and the parents got to chat while watching them swim. After everyone left, Christian took a nap, Matt prepared his sermon, Emily played with her new toys and I had the pool to myself. Very nice day!

On Wednesday, I'll be heading to Orlando to spend four days with my mom and sister. Woohoo! It will be nice to be together without the men and the littles. We are all looking forward to it and have been counting the days down. Please pray for Matt and the kids in my absence :).
